Hawkins collection
Highland Society of Harford County papers
This collection contains manuscript materials and ephemera related to the Highland Society of Harford County. The Society was incorporated in 1967 for the“preservation of the spirit, dress, music and antiquities of the Scottish people and is dedicated to the promotion of these traditions among those of Scottish ancestry within Harford County and its environs.”
J. Alexis Shriver papers
The papers of J. Alexis Shriver (1872-1951) are contained in 17 boxes and number approximately 3,000 items. Shriver was a business administrator, public celebrations organizer, local history buff, and collector of manuscripts. The latter three aspects of his life are represented best in this collection, which spans the years 1790 to 1945.
J. Gilman D'Arcy Paul photograph collection
This collection contains photographs made or collected by J. Gilman D'Arcy Paul, depicting rural scenes and historic estates and houses in Baltimore city and Baltimore County, Maryland, as well as twelve other Maryland counties.
Joseph L. Hughes collection
This collection contains primary source material collected by Joseph L. Hughes to further his interest in the study of Harford County history, many of which were the basis for talks given by Hughes on occasion, and for articles appearing in various local newspapers.
Lawrence Johnson slide collection
The Lawrence Johnson slide collection contains 172 35mm color slides of Baltimore landmarks and events, circa 1940-1990s.
Mary E. W. Risteau collection
This collection consists of the personal and political papers of Mary E. W. Risteau (1890-1978), the first woman elected to the Maryland House of Delegates, 1921, and the State Senate, 1935.
Michael papers
The Michael papers is comprised of a collection of letters, deeds, and maps pertaining to the family of Charles W. Michael of Harford County, Maryland. Also included is the genealogical correspondence of the Osburn family. Subjects discussed are family affairs, runaway slaves, removal of one member of the family to Indiana, and local politics.
Sherman slide collection
The Sherman slide collection contains approximately 180 35mm color slides, 1970-1974, of landmarks (Baltimore Zoo, Hopkins Plaza, etc.) and events (City Fair, Flower Mart, etc.) in Baltimore City and Harford County.
Thomas H. Robinson papers
This collection primarily contains the correspondence of Thomas H. Robinson, Attorney General for Maryland from 1924 until his death in 1930. Other records describe his law practice, as well as his involvement as a Democratic leader in Harford County.
